PenCare Health Initiative – Free Healthcare for CPS Retirees

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) is pleased to announce the commencement of the PenCare Health Initiative, a Pension Industry programme designed to provide free access to healthcare for retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).

PenCare offers access to healthcare services for eligible retirees through accredited Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs). It would enable registered retirees to access services at Hospitals within the accredited HMOs' networks.

Registration is now open for up to 30,000 retirees in the Pilot Phase of the PenCare Health Initiative. To qualify, you must be an existing retiree aged at least 60 years and receiving a monthly pension not more than ₦70,000 from a Pension Fund Administrator (PFA). PenCare will be expanded to cover more retirees in subsequent implementation phases.

Eligible Retirees are invited to register by scanning the QR code below or through a registration link, which is accessible on the PenCom website: www.pencom.gov.ng and the websites of various Pension Fund Administrators. Enrolment is on a first-come, first-served basis covering 30,000 retirees.

PenCare is FREE of charge; retirees are not required to make any payment for registration. The programme is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of PenCom and Pension Fund Operators, which aims to preserve the dignity, health and well-being of Nigerian Retirees. It seeks to enhance retirement benefits by reducing the burden of retirees' medical expenses on their monthly pensions.
